Come Bake, Pray, and Be Fed: A Workshop with Kendall Vanderslice
From God’s provision of manna in the wilderness to Jesus breaking bread with his disciples, bread has always been more than food, it’s been a holy reminder that God is present, providing for us in body and spirit. Sign-up for some solo reflective time, with a church friend, or partner – this event is open to all church members!
We invite you to join us for a unique hands-on workshop with professional baker and theologian Kendall Vanderslice, founder of Bake & Pray™, where you’ll learn to make bread not just as a recipe but as a spiritual practice. As you knead, shape, and rest the dough, you’ll enter into sacred rhythms of creation, trust, and transformation. Whether you’re a seasoned baker or have never touched a packet of yeast, you’ll come away with fresh insight into the deep connection between our tables and our faith.
This workshop will be followed by a four-week mid-hour series: Worship at the Table, led by Kendall, where we’ll explore how gathering, eating, and worshiping are profoundly intertwined. Together, we’ll slow down, reflect on God’s presence in our everyday meals, and rediscover how the simple act of eating can be an act of communion.
The workshop and the four-week mid-hour series complement one another, but you’re welcome to participate in either—or both! Sign up for what fits your schedule and interests.
Come with your curiosity. Leave with bread in your hands and a deeper awareness of God’s grace at your table.
