The Rev. Dr. Stephen Chapin Garner

Chapin is a native New Yorker, having grown up over the border from New Canaan in Westchester County. His greatest passions in life are being a husband, father, and pastor.

Chapin is a graduate of Boston University School of Theology, and he holds Doctor of Ministry degree in preaching from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He has served as a pastor at the Village Church in Wellesley, Massachusetts and the United Church of Christ in Norwell, Massachusetts.

Chapin has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Alban Institute, an adjunct faculty member in homiletics at Boston University School of Theology and General Theological Seminary, and a resident preacher at the Church at Point O’Woods in Fire Island.

So much preaching and teaching in the Christian faith is anthropocentric—it’s all about us. However, the Bible, and all the stories therein, are decidedly theocentric—all about God.
