Khanisha Denise Moore

Khanisha Denise Moore was born in Florida and was raised in Connecticut after being adopted at the age of five. She began serving in ministry at the age of twelve at the French-speaking Baptist Church of Norwalk. Over nearly two decades, she directed children’s, youth, and young adult choirs; preached and led Bible studies; and developed curriculum for Sunday School and family ministries. In 2021, she followed God’s call to The Congregational Church of New Canaan, where she now serves as a Youth Leader and sings in the Chancel Choir, guiding middle and high school students in weekly gatherings, mission trips, and service opportunities.

Khanisha seeks to utilize her spiritual gifts of shepherding, faith, and evangelism to shape her calling to nurture Christ-centered communities and encourage young people to deepen their relationship with God. Professionally, she serves as Senior On-Track Coach with the Connecticut RISE Network and as Residential Director for A Better Chance (ABC) New Canaan, combining her passion for education and youth development with her commitment to Christian service.

Allison graduated from Davidson College in 1997 with a BS in Biology and a BA in Psychology. She continued her education at NYU and graduated with a master’s degree in Reading in 2000. Allison has always loved working with children. Her various roles include elementary schoolteacher, reading tutor, Sunday School teacher, and children’s teacher at Community Bible Study (CBS) in New Canaan/Darien. Allison is excited to work with our youth programs and share God’s 3:16 love with the youngest generation.
