Laurel was born and raised in a suburb of Buffalo, New York, and graduated from the University at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Early in her career, she moved to Connecticut to pursue an opportunity in the fashion industry, where she developed a strong foundation in relationship-building, customer service, and leadership. It was also in Connecticut that she met her husband, Kirk, a Connecticut native.
When her first child was born, Laurel stepped away from her professional career to focus on raising her family. During those years, she became increasingly involved in church life and discovered a deep passion for serving her community. What began as volunteering soon became a meaningful calling, and after several years of dedicating her time and talents to the church, she joined the staff in an administrative capacity in January 2013.
Laurel has always believed that meaningful ministry begins with genuine connection and fellowship. She enjoys creating welcoming environments where people feel seen, supported, and valued, and she finds great joy in helping strengthen the life of the church and its community.
Outside of church, Laurel enjoys practicing yoga, skiing, and gathering family and friends around her table for a home-cooked meal. Whether through ministry, hospitality, or everyday interactions, she is passionate about bringing people together and fostering a sense of belonging.
